Lionel is Founder and Managing Director of Psylutions, bringing more than 40 years’ experience helping organisations improve performance through people, leadership and organisational capability.

A Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Certified Principal Business Psychologist, Lionel combines organisational psychology, HR expertise, commercial leadership and strategic consultancy to help organisations address complex workforce challenges. His work is evidence-based, practical and focused on delivering measurable organisational outcomes.

Before establishing Psylutions, Lionel held senior leadership roles across organisational psychology, human resources, recruitment and business development in the UK and internationally. He has advised multinational corporations, government departments, NHS organisations, police forces, defence, universities and growing SMEs, supporting organisations to strengthen leadership capability, improve workforce performance and successfully manage organisational change.

His consultancy spans HR business partnering, leadership development, organisational change, workforce assessment, executive coaching, employee relations, organisational resilience and complex people-related challenges. He has particular expertise in supporting organisations operating in high-risk and highly regulated environments, where leadership decisions and workforce capability have significant operational consequences.

Alongside his consultancy career, Lionel served for 37 years in the British Army, retiring with the rank of Major following extensive Regular and Reserve service, including command appointments within the United Kingdom Special Forces (Reserve) and multiple overseas operational tours. This experience strengthened his expertise in leadership under pressure, crisis decision-making and organisational resilience.

Committed to lifelong professional development, Lionel holds degrees in Human Resources, Psychology and Occupational Psychology together with a Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology, where his research examined post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth.

Together with Dr Uzma Durrani, Lionel provides Psylutions with a distinctive combination of organisational psychology, HR expertise and senior clinical mental health leadership, enabling the consultancy to support organisations across the full spectrum of organisational performance, resilience and wellbeing.
